“guy upstairs” is a tragicomic window into our eventual deaths and what it all might be like on the other side. We touch on the mundanity of living, which can feel like a living death we cycle through until something changes. This takes the form of clownish vignettes and moments of tenderness. There are different scenarios on how afterlives might look, some liberating, some trapping. We express life as a series of misunderstandings, wondering if we simply continue them in another realm when it’s all over. What’s asserted is that there is humor in perpetual fear.
