The Supremes is an original musical that uses song, spoken word, and courtroom drama to explore mass incarceration, surveillance, and the erosion of democratic rights — and to call audiences to object and dissent. With book and lyrics by Shailly Agnihotri and music by James Bally, the piece weaves together the story of Jones, a man navigating a broken justice system, with the real dissents of Justice Sotomayor against recent Supreme Court rulings. Following the performance, The Restorative Center will co-host a youth-led community circle, creating space for audiences to reflect, respond, and connect the themes of the piece to their own lives and communities.
