Eat Pray Leave tells the story of Sara, a single 40-year-old New York journalist, who is on a quest to meet a beautiful spiritual man … and have a baby. Destiny steps in, and she meets a man who seems like he just might be the answer to everything she’s been longing for. However, when he invites her on a dream trip to India, she discovers all is not as it seems. Much like the heroine in a horror movie who goes down the basement steps alone (even though she knows that’s where the monster is) Sara doesn’t tell anyone about her discoveries , and follows him all the way to Afghanistan, where Sara finds herself in a war zone dependent on a man who can’t commit or be honest. Reclaiming her sovereignty, Sara surrenders - not to a man but to a higher power— and learns how to heal her past so she can create the future of her dreams. Told with humor and aching honesty, this is the story of a woman who mistook chaos for destiny and longing for faith — and who traveled halfway across the world to discover that the life she was trying to create, first required telling herself the truth.
